With over 30 years of experience in background investigations and compliance, Michelle Pyan is a recognized authority in the industry. As the Founder and President of CIChecked (formerly Commercial Investigations LLC), she has built a trusted organization dedicated to providing ethical, legally compliant, and comprehensive background screening solutions. Michelle’s expertise extends beyond background investigations — she is a thought leader and advocate for compliance-first hiring practices. She has led seminars for SHRM and published articles on best practices in background screening, and she is an active member of the Professional Background Screening Association (PBSA) and the Women Presidents’ Organization. Passionate about educating businesses on risk mitigation, Michelle ensures that CIChecked clients have the knowledge and tools to make confident hiring decisions while staying ahead of regulatory changes.
Michelle leads Client Onboarding, Customer Service, Client Retention, and Vendor Management, ensuring that CIChecked clients receive world-class solutions and support. She spearheads strategic initiatives, optimizes product development and fulfillment, and strengthens vendor relationships to maintain CIChecked’s reputation for unparalleled compliance, accuracy, and service.
Michelle has nearly two decades of experience in background screening, operations, and client service excellence, having held leadership roles at Sterling and Employment Background Investigations (EBI).
As Director of Operations, Tyrah is passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences and has a proven track record of success in streamlining customer support and optimizing operational processes. In her previous roles at Sterling and Universal Background, she consistently exceeded customer expectations by implementing innovative solutions and fostering strong relationships with clients.
Tyrah has over 16 years of experience in the background screening industry, including leadership positions at industry giants Sterling and Universal Background Screening.
